Trial Class & Getting Started
Our trial lesson is all about helping children feel comfortable, confident, and happy in class.
What to Wear for the Trial
For the trial lesson, no uniform or ballet shoes are required.
Children are welcome to come dressed in:
-
Their favourite dress
-
Comfortable everyday clothes
-
A superhero costume (yes, Superman or Moana is welcome!)
They may dance barefoot or in socks, whichever they prefer.
We want children to feel relaxed and free to enjoy the class without any pressure.

What to Bring:
-
A water bottle clearly labelled with your child’s name
-
Water only (no juice or sweet drinks, please)
This is important for all classes, including the trial.

Ballet Shoes (Optional for the Trial)
Ballet shoes are not required for the trial lesson.
However, if you choose to buy shoes in advance, that is absolutely fine.
We strongly recommend:
-
Canvas ballet shoes
-
Split sole

Why Canvas Split-Sole Shoes for Young Children?
Young children’s feet are still developing. Canvas split-sole shoes:
-
Allow children to feel the floor, which improves balance and coordination
-
Provide better grip, reducing slipping
-
Encourage stronger foot muscles
-
Support natural movement and healthy foot development

Leather or hard soles can limit this feedback, which is why canvas is the best option for beginners.
👉 We also sell canvas split-sole ballet shoes in our studio for £15.

Monthly Packs & Uniform Policy
If you decide to continue after the trial and choose a monthly pack, please note that purchasing our official uniform is mandatory.

Why Is the Uniform Mandatory?
Our uniform is not just about appearance it plays an important role in:
-
Inclusion: Every child looks the same, regardless of background, ability, or experience
-
Confidence: Children feel part of a team and focus on dancing, not clothing
-
Equality: No pressure to wear “better” or “different” outfits
-
Discipline & Routine: Helps children understand they are entering a learning space
-
Safety & Movement: Proper dancewear allows teachers to see posture and alignment clearly

Performances
Throughout the year, we may offer opportunities for children to take part in performances, such as seasonal shows.
-
We do not require parents to buy show costumes
-
Children usually perform in their official uniform
-
Occasionally, there may be small accessories required to purchase , but these are kept minimal.

This approach helps keep performances accessible, inclusive, and stress-free for families.
For this reason, the uniform is a mandatory requirement for all monthly pack students.

What Is Included in the Uniform Set
Our uniform set cost £50 and includes:
-
Leotard
-
Separate Skirt
-
Tights
-
Ballet shoes

Full details and sizing guidance will be provided once you decide to continue after the trial.
