About Petit Pas Dance Studio

Our Philosophy

Petit Pas Dance Studio is more than just a ballet school, it's a specialised dance program for children ages 3-10. Our ballet program provides young dancers with an outstanding technical foundation in a fun and nurturing environment. Beginning with our exclusive ballet classes for toddlers ages 3 and continuing throughout the program, students are encouraged to learn through creative self-expression, exploration of movement and age-appropriate choreography.

As our students master the fundamentals and mature as dancers, they graduate from fairy tales to a more intensive focus on technique, style, interpretation and choreography. At each step, we remain committed to providing the best dance education available by emphasising positive self-esteem, technical excellence and a love of the art of dance.

Nikki C.

My name is Nikki and I would like to share with you the story how I became a professional ballerina.

When I was 6 years old I heard on the radio that they were looking for talented children. I said "This is about me!" My father used to tell me so many times that I was so talented that when I heard the call on the radio for this audition, I wanted to go. And to be honest, I didn’t even know what ballet was. But when I got there, I fell in love...

Ballet offered me a way of discipline, grace and to build my confidence. I have participated in so many dance festivals and I have collaborated with Maurice Béjart and Sergei Diaghilev Ballet company’s when I was studying in Paris at the International Dance Academy.
I have a strong base of Russian technique  ballet and also a french style base that is concentrated more on the upper part of the body, to be more gracious.

The idea of Petit Pas Dance Studio was born out of a desire to provide an age-appropriate early-childhood educational dance experience for the little ones in my community.

I want to see our student’s unique individuality, I want to nurture and encourage it and watch it soar as they grow up in our program. There is a balance where you can accomplish both a mind and body connection to the art form as a whole without suppressing a child’s individuality and creative expression.

With love,
Nikki
